i know, i know. i promised to publish my post on portugal on the weekend, but i forgot. again. garh. this is what happens when there’s too many things to do in Real Life. or in my case, too many tv shows and books to catch up on!
but since we’re in the last month of the year and with christmas coming up i thought it’d be more apt to write about all the christmassy things going on in london! right?
anyway, i found myself in central london yesterday so popped over to harrods to check out their 30% fashion sale preview and was captivated with their christmas windows. they really do have the prettiest windows come christmas time and last year was no exception either. this year the theme is ‘the harrods christmas express’ and looking into each and every window really made me want to travel in style on a train. where were they going? oh who cares if you’re all decked out in sparkles and the finest fabrics!
on the other end of the building they had windows with a snowy woodland theme, mainly spruiking items from mulberry, an ubiquitous british brand.
it was such a beautiful, warm sunny day that i decided to walk all the way from knightsbridge to marble arch and picked a route that took me through hyde park and its annual winter wonderland festivities! although i have to say that winter wonderland looks and feels more festive at night, with all the twinkling lights coming to life then. hyde park itself was in the process of shedding all its green, and turning different shades of yellow, orange and brown.
well seeing as i was at marble arch i popped into primark to
cut my life short by 5 years (the crowds, the CROWDS are always crazy in there) see if i could find myself a little christmas pudding beanie, but i think they’re all sold out :(. contemplated getting either of the christmas jumpers below but decided that i probably won’t get too much wear out of them for the rest of the year and just took a picture for keepsake. can you tell i have a thing for cute snowmen?
and since i was on a walking roll, i continued on to john lewis at oxford circus and picked up a gorgeous smelling diptyque candle (geranium rosa, if you must know) to get me through the colder days, where i predict i’ll be spending quite a bit of time indoors. on my way i passed the entrance of selfridges (destination christmas) and a group of elvis impersonators. haha the random things you see sometimes.
