i absolutely.cannot.believe we’re in the last month of the year! i mean, come on…december is here? already? where did the whole year go? i guess all the travelling we’ve been doing plus the visits from family and friends has just made the year go by quicker than a Flash in a Pan.
i still remember Clear as Day, walking along brompton road this time last year admiring harrods’ christmas windows and although i haven’t paid a visit to harrods recently, i did wander down to selfridges when i found myself on bond street 2 weeks ago.
now of course when i’m out jostling with the crowds on oxford street a.k.a Tourist Central i don’t bring my dslr, so i shot the pictures below with my antiquated iphone 3gs (that you can’t even get phone covers for anymore nowadays). the theme for selfridges’ christmas windows center around a couple of (giant-sized) iconic items from different brands, ranging from beats by dre headphones that can be spotted on every second head in london to the kitschy pair of kitty flats from charlotte olympia normally found on alexa chung’s feet.
naturally after looking at these windows i was enticed to enter the store to check out a pair of shoes i’ve had on and off (now very much back on) my wishlist for sometime and i stumbled upon mannequins with snowmen heads wearing kigu onesies!
upon closer inspection i would really like the pale blue unicorn onesie on the left, please! but only if it came in petite sizing….or kid’s sizing (11-12 years, if you must know).
let’s sidetrack here now for a little bit, since it’s christmas (the season of giving and all…). innocent juices recently kitted a million of their smoothie bottles with little hats/beanies, in conjunction with age uk to help keep thousands of older people across uk warm during the winter months. when you buy a bottle that is ‘behatted’, 25p goes to age uk. you can either help by knitting a hat or buying a bottle of innocent smoothie.
now, this usually runs during november each year so it might be too late to knit a little hat, but maybe you can still buy a bottle of smoothie/juice if you see them in stores, if interested. and if you’re a keen knitter you might think of joining in next year! they have many knitting patterns on the website- how cute are some of the patterns on there? owl, berry, wooltermelon, tortoise, crown, aussie…adorable!
this is my bottle, with a cute little beanie that has a pom pom and flower on it.
and this was what i saw in boots when i travelled from gatwick a week ago. rows and rows of smoothies all protected from the cold!
i drafted a post on my last holiday to portugal, but forgot to schedule it for when i was away recently – d’oh, but i promise it will be up this weekend!
